Thankful Thursday – Denise Ryan Hill
It’s Thankful Thursday and I am thankful for my childhood friend Denise Ryan Hill. Denise moved in next door to me when we were three years old. We played together every single day until I moved to Shepherdsville when I was ten. But that did not keep us apart. We spent weeks together every summer. I sang at several of her weddings LOL. And at her mom’s funeral:(
She and her family taught me to water ski, eat shrimp, and play Texas Holdem. She was the first person to arrive at the hospital the morning my son Brandon was born. She is the first friend I call when I have a problem or need a shoulder to cry on. We still get together for lunch or to pig out on crab legs at the boat in Indiana.
It’s a long way from three years old but I don’t think a year has passed that we have not gotten together. We even outlasted our favorite lunch spot. That’s what I call a lasting friendship.

Candi, when I think of change, I have to remember not to resist, and, know that it is eternal. Actually, most of the things I have planned have evolved into something else, and not turned out as I expected. The fact is, they have usually turned out better. I leave it in God’s hand, because he is always creating something new. Instaed of trying to wait til everything is perfect, I have learned to just, “go for it” and use the hindsight in a constructive way, so that positive things happened for me in my career. When you take that risk, it seems to create a certain energy, that will propel other to help you reach your goal. It worked for me !!! Mike Abell
I agree with the “just go for it” mentality Mike. We are to often plagued with the paralysis of analysis. I often tell people I don’t need to gamble for fun because I am an entrepreneur and that carries quite a thrill. I think you might have some blogger blood in you.
