Rome, Italy
Florence was unbelievable. We took a private tour and saw almost everything there was to see. Again we took the private tour route. This gets us the most bang for our buck. Took some great pictures. Next is Rome.
Rome, the Eternal City. What do you think about someone with a name like Flavius visiting Rome? Whenever someone first meets Flavius they usually ask him what is ”Flavius?…is that Greek? No, it’s Roman. So he should feel right at home here. NOT! Flavius is not really all that in to travel. He just endures it for me. What a guy!!
Rome is one of the most popular destinations in Europe. Visitors come from all over the world to see landmarks like the Colosseum, the Vatican, they climb the Spanish Steps and take pictures throwing three coins into Trevi Fountain like I did in 1974.
Much to do and see but we were up to the task.
Of course we did all of the above. Plus had a great lunch and some awesome gelato to boot. I think this is one of our most exhausting vacations to date. It seems we have walked 25 miles per day. We actually lost Vicki at the Vatican today. We eventually found her of course. Just in the nick of time too I must say.
I forgot to mention that we have been having cappuccino in every city and Portofino is best by far….so far. We still have Capri.
