It’s Thankful Thursday and I am Thankful for Mothers!
It’s Thankful Thursday and I am thankful for Mothers. I can in all honesty say I am surrounded by many wonderful mothers. My own mother Doris Rayhill went to be with the Lord in 2008 and I miss her very much. May 2nd was her birthday and she has been on my mind a lot lately. But today with Mother’s Day just around the corner I want to write about all mothers.
There are many saying about mothers like “she is a mother hen” or “she’s like a mother bear”. I feel like I know literal what they mean by the last one. Years ago when we were just kids we took a trip to Gatlinburg and as we were driving through the park my brother Danny saw a cute little bear cub and said stop the car so he could take a picture. Well I’m sure you can probably guess the rest of the story. The “mother bear” thought her baby was at risk and of course charged at Danny. He dove into the car and the bear put huge claw marks down the car as we sped away.
One of my favorite things about mothers is their protective instinct. I really believe it is God given. Mothers are always in our corner and I love that. I have included our family picture because I wanted to say how thankful I am for Amy. She is a wonderful mother. I am blessed that someone so wonderful is raising our grandkids. One day in the future I may have to write and entire Thankful Thursday Blog about her:)
