Digg me

Well as I said in my last post “the list was in no particular order”, but for me number 10 is actually number one. I have posted the YouTube video of Art Williams because it is good and because about 4 1/2 minute into the video he talks about the fact that God must come first, family second and business third. This is the policy to live by. For me this starts by combining number 1. Counting your blessings with number 10. Spiritual enrichment. I try to always start the day with an attitude of gratitude. Just laying there for a few minutes after the alarm goes off and thanking God for another day and for all the blessing in your life will get you day off to the right start.   Actually one of the things I am thankful for is that I don’t usually get up to an alarm.

My mom instilled this “be thankful” thing in me a long time ago. I had a lousy complexion growing up and mom  would not let me complain. When I tried to moan about it she would say “be thankful you have legs” It almost became a family joke but she was right. When counting our blessings we sometimes forget the obvious. That’s why I have included the other You Tube Video. It’s kind of funny but it really hits home.

For me spiritual enrichment means going to church regularly.  Lot’s of folks now days don’t think this is that important.  For me it is.  And then there is using my talents.  Mom again always read me the story of the talents in the Bible and told me if you don’t use your talent God might take it and give it to someone else.  It gives a whole new meaning to “use it or lose it” .    And then of course there is feeding your mind with the right stuff.   Reading the Bible and having daily devotion.  I happen to love Joel Osteen.  I subscribe to his daily inspiration and you can too.    You’ve heard the saying “garbage in…garbage out”.   We really must feed our mind with good stuff but also avoid the garbage.  That is sometimes harder to do.  None of this is rocket science it’s just a matter of making the commmitment to do these things daily.
