Background – Neal Coomer

This is a video made by my friend Neal Coomer.  Neal was one of the kids in my Junior Choir at church.  I told many of you the story of how my mom worked her whole life in child evangelism and I followed for many years in her footsteps. I started helping her in the childrens ministry at the church were we attended.  First just in the “background”  helping with snacks and crafts and then later with the music.  Neal was one of the kids in that group.  Neal used to sit on my lap every Sunday night in church and dig through my purse for gum:) At church picnics I would spin him around until he was so dizzy he could barely stand up.  He was one of the first kids in the group to sing Harmony in a trio with Cheryl and Rhonda Mise at a really young age.  He was and is so talented. 

This video that he produced just two days ago speaks volumes.  We must find our way.  What will be our legacy?  I don’t have all the answers but I have been alive long enough to see a lot.  We must find our way and then help others find their way.  It’s not what we do, it’s who we help.  As you think back over your life it’s the people that went out of their way to help you that should and usually do stand out.  When I think of high school I think of my favorite teachers that stood out above the rest. .   For you it may be a coach or Sunday school teacher.  In 2009 for me it was Rick Ricketts and Coach Tomer in YTB,  Mike Griffin in our blogging group and of course Dale Calvert.   Are you that person to someone…to anyone?  If you have not started your goal list yet this would be a nice place to start.  I hope I was that person for someone in 2009.  I want to be that person for several someones in 2010.
